What We Do

Resilience Assessment – Every engagement will begin with a Resilience Assessment (RA).  This study will provide a comprehensive assessment, using industry standards and best practices, of the viability and maturity of the organization’s business continuity, IT disaster recovery, and crisis management plans.  The RA will include detailed findings with expert recommendations and metrics to express the current level of maturity and recovery capability of the organization’s programs.  This is a prudent first step for any program to establish a baseline of maturity and capability and is an excellent foundation to develop a roadmap for future enhancements.

Business Continuity Plan – The business continuity plan will address the continuity of business operations after an interruption.  A detailed analysis of critical business processes and technology resources, as well as existing and potential risks to your organization, will lead to the development of effective and thorough recovery plans and strategies that will address the real impacts of outages to your business operations.

Disaster Recovery Plan – Today’s business relies heavily on Information Technology to be highly available and to operate with minimal disruption in a disaster. The need for a well-thought-out, comprehensive technology recovery solution that meets the needs of the business is key to a successful BC program.  The DR plan has historically been separate and independent from the BC plan and while recovery procedures must be well documented, the information technology component of the business must be an integral part of any successful business continuity plan.

Crisis Management Plan – Every organization is vulnerable to crises.  The Crisis Management Plan is the roadmap for senior management to navigate those crises and minimize the damage or exposure to the organization.  The CM Plan is developed by analyzing the threats an organization could face, creating a crisis management team (CMT) of senior management, and developing strategies to respond to those threats.

Exercises – A plan is nothing more than a set of documents unless it is thoroughly tested to ensure its viability and alignment to business requirements and objectives.  Exercises can range from departmental tabletop walkthroughs to full scale, company-wide disaster simulations.  Detailed objectives are set with senior management to ensure critical business processes are being satisfactorily tested.

Training – Training in the business continuity, IT recovery, and Crisis Management are but a few of the training courses offered.  Customized courses can be created and delivered as required.  Training the organization on its newly implemented plans will help to ensure success when the time comes to utilize plans.

Services on Retainer – Reid Consulting can be your trusted business advisor on all matters involving organizational resilience.  Customized retainers can be developed to fit any requirement.
