The DR plan has historically been separate and independent from the BC plan and while recovery procedures must be well documented, the information technology component of the business must be an integral part of any successful business continuity plan.
Crisis Management Plan – Every organization is vulnerable to crises. The Crisis Management Plan is the roadmap for senior management to navigate those crises and minimize the damage or exposure to the organization. The CM Plan is developed by analyzing the threats an organization could face, creating a crisis management team (CMT) of senior management, and developing strategies to respond to those threats.
Exercises – A plan is nothing more than a set of documents unless it is thoroughly tested to ensure its viability and alignment to business requirements and objectives. Exercises can range from departmental tabletop walkthroughs to full scale, company-wide disaster simulations.
